Percentage formulas with examples

Marks to percentage: (Marks obtained ÷ Total marks) × 100

Example: 425 out of 500. 425 ÷ 500 × 100 = 85%.

Percentage to marks: (Percentage ÷ 100) × Total marks

Example: 85% of 1100 marks. 85 ÷ 100 × 1100 = 935 marks.

Percentage change: ((New score − Previous score) ÷ Previous score) × 100

Example: your score went from 60 to 72. (72 − 60) ÷ 60 × 100 = +20%, which is an increase.
